Does the automated shift assistant restrict the rider? Especially in demanding riding situations, such as when riding with luggage or a passenger?

No, on the contrary!
Especially when carrying heavy luggage or a second person, the automated shift assistant (ASA) can make riding much more comfortable by minimising manual intervention. The ASA does not restrict the rider's control, as they have full control of the motorbike at all times. The shift assistant can support the rider by optimising gear changes and thus increasing concentration on the riding situation. The automated clutch operation also makes driving off more comfortable, superior, smoother and therefore safer.

In contrast to the classic manual transmission, the ASA largely avoids the resulting shift jolt and the shifting process is carried out with significantly less unsteadiness in the chassis. The risk of helmet contact between the rider and passenger is also minimised.
Basically, the effectiveness of the ASA in different riding situations depends heavily on individual riding skills.
