When the automated shift assistant is active: What happens in hazardous situations such as emergency braking or swerving?

The automated shift assistant (ASA) supports you in hazardous situations such as emergency braking or swerving by allowing you to concentrate fully on steering and/or braking manoeuvres thanks to automatic gearshift and clutch operation. This prevents the engine from stalling.

Because the vehicle shifts down automatically with ASA, you will always be in the right gear, even in an emergency braking or swerving manoeuvre. Even if you are in manual shift mode "M" during the manoeuvre, the system automatically downshifts (if you get out of the lower rotational speed "window" / fall below the minimum speed) to optimise riding stability.

Find out all about the advantages of the ASA here.
