What do I have to consider when manoeuvring with the automated shift assistant?

Manoeuvring and driving off is very intuitive with the automated shift assistant (ASA), simplifying processes enormously and reducing the driver's workload.
In the neutral position "N", the motorbike can still be moved and manoeuvred without any problems.
If the neutral position "N" is retained when switching off, the motorbike can be easily moved in the garage, for example, without the need to insert the ignition key. However, it is then not secured against rolling away.

To set the neutral position "N", press and hold the gearshift lever down OR press the ASA button until "N" is displayed.

To secure the motorbike against rolling away, pay attention to the following points:

  • Remain in 1st gear without shifting to position "N".
  • If you leave the ignition switched off, the transmission remains in 1st gear and the "P" icon lights up on the display.

The motorbike can then no longer be moved without the ignition key. The roll-away protection is activated and can also be used as an anti-theft security system.
This means that if the motorbike is parked in position "P", it can only be shifted from 1st gear to position "N" with the ignition key or with the ignition activated.

Please note:
The neutral position / neutral gear "N" is not between 1st and 2nd gear, as is usual with other transmissions, but below 1st gear. See the following shift pattern figure.
