The automated shift assistant (ASA) only has one transmission and one clutch.
The ASA is based on a conventional manual transmission with a wet clutch, in which the clutch discs are immersed in a bath of oil or another lubricant.
The – technically speaking – simple system structure is reliable, less prone to faults and has been intensively tested by BMW Motorrad and has already been sent on a world tour!
