The BMW Motorrad Connected App is designed as an app for the so-called portrait mode. As soon as you start your ride, a map view is displayed. Both the Portrait and Landscape modes are supported for this view.
You can set the orientation for the map view while riding in the BMW Motorrad Connected app. To do this, select the menu "More" , switch to "Navigation Settings" and click on "Auto", "Portrait" or "Landscape" under "Map orientation of the lock screen while riding".
Attention: Also check the system settings of your smartphone and make sure the screen orientation is not locked.
Note: The BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Cradle for holding your smartphone has been available since the end of 2021. You can find more information and how to use the smartphone cradle here.
