ConnectedRide Com P1: My voice sounds either too loud or too quiet for the other participants. What can I do?

If your motorcycle group finds that your voice sounds too loud or too quiet, this could be due to the microphone sensitivity or the microphone volume.

  • If your voice sounds too loud for the other participants, then turn down the microphone volume.
  • If the other participants in your group are hearing too much background noise, then reduce the microphone sensitivity.
  • If your voice sounds too quiet for the other participants, then turn up the microphone volume.
  • If the other participants are still not hearing your voice well enough, then increase the microphone sensitivity.

For normal conversation volume and ambient noise, you should leave the microphone volume and sensitivity settings at medium / normal.

Only when there is very loud ambient noise (e.g. when riding off-road with an open GS helmet or when riding with an open System 8 helmet) should you set the microphone sensitivity to low. Bear in mind, however, that you’ll need to speak more loudly so that the microphone picks up your voice.

So if you (or any other participants) sound too quiet or too loud, please adjust your audio settings.

Please note: When speaking, make sure that the microphone is not directly in contact with your lips.

To adjust the audio settings, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Connectivity Hub in the BMW Motorrad Connected app or in the ConnectedRide Navigator.
  2. Select the Com P1 and open the audio settings. In the app, you can find this via the gear icon in the top right corner.
In the BMW Motorrad Connected app, select the Com P1 and open the audio settings via the icon in the top right corner.
  3. Here you can adjust the microphone sensitivity, microphone volume and “Audio Ducking” across 3 levels.
