The maximum charging power is 7.5 watts for both inductive / wireless charging and charging via a USB-C cable. However, the actual charging power is significantly influenced by the charged smartphone itself, which regulates the charging power individually depending on the charge level of the battery and the charging temperature or the outside temperature.
Background: This regulation cannot be influenced and is heavily dependent on your smartphone manufacturer. The charging power is usually reduced when the battery is approaching its maximum charge or when the smartphone is charged at hot ambient temperatures. In extreme cases, the smartphone's battery may therefore still discharge slowly, especially when navigation is active.
In principle, charging via a cable generates slightly less heat on the smartphone than inductive charging. We therefore recommend using a cable for charging at high outside temperatures.
If inductive charging does not work even at normal outside temperatures, make sure that your smartphone actually supports inductive charging.
Please note:
Due to the new iPhone features (from iPhone 12 pro Max), the charging points of the iPhone and the ConnectedRide Cradle are no longer optimally aligned. As a result, your iPhone may no longer be charged via the cradle.
