How can I check the battery charge of the radio-operated key of my R 1300 GS?

The battery charge of the radio-operated key of the R 1300 GS is indicated by the LED colour.
For this, press the BMW button on your key:

• LED lights up green: Battery voltage is normal
• LED lights up orange: Battery voltage is low
• LED lights up red: Battery voltage is critical

If the LED lights up red, the battery of the radio-operated key must be replaced immediately. This also applies if the radio-operated key no longer responds at all.

To replace the battery, press button (1), then slide the battery cover (2) upwards and remove the battery (3).
The battery type of the Keyless Ride radio-operated key is "CR 2032". Insert a new battery (Important: positive pole pointing upwards) and reinstall the battery cover. The radio-operated key is now ready for use again.
