The new ABS setting "2" has been extended to include the safety functionality ABS Pro (cornering ABS) on the S 1000 RR (2023 model year).
The ABS Pro function was designed for racetrack use with slick tyres. ABS Pro detects a slipping front wheel by means of the slip. Depending on the lean angle, the brake pressure is reduced to prevent the wheel from reaching the limit – if possible – and to stabilise it so that a fall can be avoided as far as possible.
In addition, "Brake Slide Assist" is only enabled in ABS setting "2".
The benefit of ABS setting "2" for the rider – especially when racing with slick tires – is to have a setting that is as "sharp" as possible that enables high-performance braking designed for maximum deceleration.
