The new S 1000 RR power train (ab 2023 model year) is equipped with a new airbox as on the M RR and, as before, with variable intake funnels. On the RR, however, the intake funnels have been shortened, as on the M RR power train, to optimise gas exchange and thus performance, especially at high rotational speeds.
As before, the length of the intake funnels is varied in two stages via a characteristic map-controlled servomotor mounted on the airbox. At a rotational speed of 11,900 rpm, the short intake paths favourable for achieving maximum power are released.
