Why was the suspension geometry of the S 1000 RR (from model year 2023) changed?

The chassis has been further developed to increase driving precision even more. The following adjustments were made:
  • The steering head angle has been flattened by 0.5° (66.4° instead of 66.9°)
  • Offset of the fork bridges was reduced by 3 mm --> New: 26.5 mm
  • The castor was extended accordingly: from 93.9 mm to 99.8 mm
  • At the same time, the wheelbase was extended to 1457 mm
  • Spring travel: front 120 mm / rear 117 mm

With this suspension geometry, even better driving precision, increased accuracy and clearer feedback from the front wheel are achieved.
