Wheelies are absolutely undesirable from a driving dynamics point of view, as the driving power in this driving situation is not converted 100 per cent into propulsion, but also to a considerable percentage into the rising of the front end of the motorcycle. Accordingly, the traction control kicks in to prevent a wheelie and reduces the driving power. Valuable tenths of a second are lost in the process.
Thanks to the aerodynamic downforce, the RR offers more precise and stable turn-in behaviour. Braking later and accelerating earlier result in better lap times, more fun and success on the track.
The M winglets provide more stability in corners thanks to aerodynamic downforce – without sacrificing maximum speed. This means you can brake later and accelerate earlier, converting more power into pure propulsion. The front wheel pulls into the apex of the corner and the fork keeps contact with the ground, the DTC has to intervene less.
