Is there a key for "mechanically" opening the Vario luggage system on the R 1300 GS?

The Vario luggage system includes mechanical keys with which the locks can be opened. Insert the key into the lock and turn to the "RELEASE" position. Pull the lever at the bottom which opens and then turn the key to the dot mark.
This also applies if your radio-operated key is defective or the battery of the key is flat.

Note: If the central locking system has failed or the Vario case / topcase has been locked and removed from the vehicle, you can open it at any time with the key.
