If you have the automated shift assistant (ASA) integrated on your motorbike, you can set the drive-ready state as follows:
- Switch on the ignition.
- Start the engine.
- Fold in the side stand.
- Apply the brake.
- Engage 1st gear with the gearshift lever.
The motorbike is now ready to ride. Manual shift mode "M" is active (default setting).
If you want to ride in manual shift mode "M":
- Carefully open the throttle grip to drive off.
- Shift up and down as usual using the gearshift lever. The display shows you which gear you are in.
- To stop: Close the throttle grip completely and brake to a standstill.
Note: If the rotational speed falls below a gear-dependent minimum speed, the system automatically downshifts, even in manual mode.
If you want to drive off in automatic shift mode "D", follow the steps below:
- Select shift mode "D" – by pressing the ASA button.
- Carefully open the throttle grip to drive off. You can see from the icon on the display, e.g. "D1", that you are in 1st gear in automatic shift mode.
- To stop: Close the throttle grip completely and brake to a standstill.
- Select the neutral position "N" by pressing and holding the gearshift lever all the way down OR by pressing and holding the ASA button.
Note: If you shift up or down manually using the gearshift lever, automatic gear selection is temporarily suspended. As soon as a harmonious transition is possible, automated gear selection is resumed.
Here you can find out more about the shifting actions and the transmission modes of the ASA.
