Telematics data is transmitted from the motorbike to a server operated by BMW via a secure connection in a private subnetwork of a mobile communications service provider that is only accessible to BMW motorbikes. This does not require the customer to have a private mobile phone. Communication takes place via a SIM card permanently installed in the vehicle ex works.
State-of-the-art encryption methods are used during transmission. Third parties can now access the telematics data via the BMW servers – with your express prior consent.
