The Navigator also works independently on motorbikes from other brands and offers full touch functionality as well as audio function / voice output (via the communication system in the helmet). Only the (multimedia) operation via the BMW Motorrad multicontroller on the handlebars is missing when using the navigator on motorbikes from other brands. Similarly, vehicle data under "Motorbike" cannot be read out by the Navigator if it is not paired with a Connectivity-enabled motorbike from BMW.
Please note: A BMW navigation device bracket is not absolutely necessary on the motorbike – just make sure that the Navigator is sufficiently supplied with power, e.g. using a 12V power socket or power bank.
A bracket for retrofitting to another motorbike is not currently available.
If you are using the Navigator on a non-Connectivity-enabled motorbike, set the screen illumination to infinity under "Settings > System > Display" so that the display always stays on and does not go into sleep mode.
