How does the adaptive vehicle height control of the R 1300 GS work?

The adaptive vehicle height control of the R 1300 GS makes handling the motorbike easier by automatically adjusting the vehicle height.
When stationary, a low vehicle height improves ground accessibility and thus conveys a feeling of safety. When the machine starts moving, the chassis is automatically raised to the standard ride height. And shortly before coming to a standstill, it is automatically lowered again. This significantly improves the seat ergonomics, maintains the drivability of your motorbike and ensures that you can reach the ground at the right time.
The seat height changes with the standard rider's seat:
  • Standstill / slow riding (under 25 km/h): 820 mm
  • Raised (when travelling at over 50 km/h): 850 mm

Modification with low comfort rider's seat:
  • Standstill / slow riding (under 25 km/h): 800 mm
  • Raised (when travelling at over 50 km/h): 830 mm

The integrated comfort jacking aid makes it easy to set the motorbike up on the centre stand, especially with luggage. The effort required is significantly reduced. Simply fold out the centre stand (ignition is switched on) so that the chassis aligns itself accordingly. The jacking aid also makes it easier to manoeuvre the R 1300 GS.

Please note: Repeated use of the jacking aid can discharge the battery. If this happens, the ignition must be switched off and on again for further attempts.
The option Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) is a prerequisite for the option adaptive vehicle height control.
